A weekend devoted to sport in the splendid setting of Bognanco Valley, with the International Veia Sky Race. Each year, hundreds of skyrunners, together with their enthusiastic fans, run along one of the most spectacular trails in the Ossola Valley, thanks to the perfect organisation of the committee and to the marvellous scenery in the upper Bognanco Valley.
There are three race trails: the first 31 km long trail, a shorter 22 km long trail and the vertical 3.4 km long trail. As from 2017, a mini sky race is also organised at Alpe Gomba, for young skyrunners aged 6 to 14 years. The races start at Alpe Gomba, where the “Villaggio La Veia” is set up, with efficient services and extensive green areas to spend a fascinating day of sport.
Each year, many volunteers help to organise the event, and they are valuable and indispensable resource: the aim of the team is always to promote the splendid mountains in the Bognanco Valley and convince young people to become interested in skyrunning.
